Jagan has announced that he would conduct ‘Rythu Diksha’ in Armoor on January 10, 11 and 12. As TRS offered stiff resistance to TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu’s Warangal visit, it is likely that the party might also offer stiff resistance to Jagan’s tour as otherwise, it would prove the allegation that Jagan and KCR were hand in glove. It is also doubtful whether police would give permission to Jagan.
Telangana Student JAC leader Pidamarti Ravi has already announced that they would oppose Jagan’s visit. He alleged that Jagan has cheated the people of Telangana and was now trying to visit Nizamabad district along with Rayalaseema goondas.
Jagan had a bitter experience when he tried to visit Warangal district for his ‘Odarpu Yatra’. He was stopped by Telangana agitators and police had to arrest him to defuse the situation. The overall situation is showing strong indications that Jagan’s attempts to step on Telangana soil for the second time would not be successful.
Pro-Telangana organisations will not confront YSR Congress party president and Kadapa MP Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s Rythu Deeksha. They have decided to simply take out rallies and stage demonstrations to mark their protest. As part of his visit to Nizamabad district, Mr Jagan will interact with sugarcane growers at Sadashivanagar and turmeric farmers at Munipally and Ankapur villages in Armoor mandal. He will also take part in a party workers’ meeting in Nizamabad on January 10.
Prior to the Rythu Deeksha, Mr Jagan will receive blessings of priests of different faiths in Armoor. Meanwhile, YSR Congress state general secretary and central working committee member Bajirreddy Govardhan urged Telangana protagonists not to obstruct Mr Jagan’s 48-hour deeksha in Armoor.
“We will take up the programme as forcefully as the Telugu Desam party did in Warangal district,” he said. He reiterated that the YSR Congress party was in favour of separate statehood for Telangana.
The TJAC district unit has decided to conduct a rally with students in Armoor on January 9, demanding the support of the YSR Congress party for the Telangana state.
Students will take part in the rally which will pass through the main streets of Armoor town.
TRS legislator T. Harish Rao raised objection to the entry of Mr Jagan into the Telangana region and demanded the party’s stand on the separate statehood issue.
