High Court Ordered the Government to release Cheruku Sudhakar

The high court today granted bail to TRS politburo member Dr Cheruku Sudhakar who was detained under the National Security Act.
Expressing anger over the arrest, the high court ordered the Government to release him immediately. “His arrest under the NSA is not warranted,” said the court. The high court ordered his release in response to a petition filed by his wife.
Sudhakar, a practicing doctor at Nakirekal in Nalganda district, was taken into preventive custody and later his arrest was confirmed by the NSA Board which gave him one year detention. He was involved in 18 cases of violence in the name of Telangana agitation and the government ordered his preventive detention to prevent further violence.
The arrest of the 50-year old Dr Sudhakar was condemned by the TRS and other pro-Telangana groups. The Indian Medical Association (IMA) also took objection to his arrest.
Sudhakar is an MBBS doctor and has been presently lodged in the Warangal Central Prison.  Following the HC orders, he will be released by this evening. (JUBS)
