Kiran Kumar Reddy’s “Power” Politics

Chief Minister Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy yesterday said that both Telangana Rashtra Samithi president
K Chandrasekhara Rao and Telangana Political Joint Action Committee chairman Prof. M Kodandaram were responsible for the shortage of power and coal supplies which in turn have affected power supply to the farmers.
But the facts seem to be different.

http://www.apgenco.gov.in/ViewHTMLPage.asp?lfile=uploadedfiles/Mar11-Gen.htm
Per the following apgenco links above, comparison of power generation from last year.
Power generation 2010 2011
Thermal power(August) 2053MU 2617MU
Thermal power(September) 1881MU 2432MU
Hydel power(September) 1854MU 1517MU
When generation of thermal power is less(due to coal miners strike) (less than last month but more than last year), the obvious measure would have been to generate more hydel power not less. But, the Krian Kumar Reddy’s Government is acting otherwise and is trying to blame KCR and Kodandaram for shortage of power supply.
Also, as per http://www.apgenco.gov.in/ViewHTMLPage.asp?lfile=uploadedfiles/DlyResLevels.htm all reservoirs are virtually full. But, AP govt has reduced hydel power generation(by 335MU in spetember) and created an artificial scarsity. Showing such scarsity, they have reduced power supply for Telangana farmers. Kiran Kumar Reddy’s “power” politics is very clear. He wants to blame Telangana movement for farmers vows.
